I suggest that you be very careful when creating the agreement you will present to contributors that says they want their contributions in the public domain. In many countries, there are unwaivable moral rights that could make an agreement to the effect of "I release this work into the public domain" invalid. You may want to base your agreement on the PD agreement that Wikipedia uses: "I, the copyright holder of this work, hereby release it into the public domain. This applies worldwide. In case this is not legally possible: I grant anyone the right to use this work for any purpose, without any conditions, unless such conditions are required by law." A statement like this is a much more likely to be valid in a variety of jurisdictions.
