tri-hexaflexagons [1] are fun little folds of paper which make a
hexagon with three sides (and there are variants with more faces).
they were first publicised by Martin Gardner in SciAm's Mathematical
Recreations column, which is reprinted in his book [2]. i thought they
would look cool with maps on them, with a different style on each
face, and could be used as promotional material / toys at mapping
parties and conferences. i've put up some instructions on how to make
them here [3].

have a go - they're easy to make once you get the hang of it :-)
