I've been doing that a bit around Canada - initially in order to help
with previous coastline 'inversions' but the work I was doing showed
me how farcical the initial import could be. The world does not have
staircase-like coasts! Tracing over the landsat is boring but one of
these therapeutic things in life, and in far-flung places the
coastline of alternative map providers is much, much worse.

The global 5m-ish coastline that does/will exist in OSM even on its
own is a massive public good.

Cheers,
Andy
