Thanks. I thought of using seasonal, but a short bit of research revealed 3 classifications of waterway. In countries with seasons it makes sense to have seasonal=yes, which can be used for a range of other map features too, but maybe we need something for water features such as Wadis, and streams that appear in storms - i.e. ephemeral.
