i'm interested in the following from a technical and social perspective: as part of the LINZ import, some members of osm in NZ are about to add a lot of data to NZ. we've already had a number of mappers contact us concerned we are about to write over their data (which incidentally, won't happen)
we would like to make as many NZ mappers aware of the import as possible, firstly to reduce these concerns, and to stop the potential outfux of NZ mappers who see themselves being replaced by bots and scripts. also, it would of course be beneficial to include more people in what we are doing are there any issues with mass contacting either (a) everyone who has set their location as in NZ, or (b) everyone who has made an edit within NZ? is there an AUP for osm which forbids this? and if not, is it possible to do this programmatically either through the wiki mail or the osm mailer? cheers _______________________________________________ talk mailing list talk@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk
