Hi Nick,
I talked with some of our german community already about creating a free
3D model portal that can be referenced. My idea was to make it with
specialisation (e.g. a general model of a bus_station and dedicated ones
for Germany ... City of Rostock)
-user:Tordanik that creates a modular PovRay Exporter
-user:marek kleciak that tries to improve the tagging details for buildings
Unfortunatly we are all very busy so there isn't anything already. I'm
pretty sure that the folks of Blender3D would be happy to improve their
cities in a third dimension. With BING out there, would this be easy to
do so. We might even ask Google Sketchup people to relicense their works...
Would be cool when the 3D interested mappers could be united for this
huge task :)
