Hi,
i am using OSM a lot for visualizing and overlaying with vectors in web apps.

Sometimes there is a need for fixing geometries in the overlays which are non
OSM so qgis comes in handy. The Problem is that the only way to get some kind
of base layer is the OpenStreetmap plugin stitching together tiles - which is
painfully slow.. I'd rather like to use the existing OSM osmosis snapshot
schema data which is a available.

The problem is that QGIS does not like the OSM IDs as they are 64bit,
and i dont think there is support for the hstore stuff either.

Does anyone have a solution for this? Creating a view does not work
either because qgis refused to look at the view because its not
in geometry_columns (yes - i know you can fake it - but not simple
in postgis 2.0)
