Hello, when editing outside my country, I try to give changeset comments in english to let other mappers understand what I did in their area. I believe this must be a best practice regarding comments (alongside the "meaningful comments" one).
This is the last example http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/changeset/18175038 but I see a lot of comments also in German, like http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/changeset/18144120. Regards, Stefano
