How very true. However in OSM the established wiki used tag is as I posted places them in area and that is how they are mapped in the UK. Now if we wanted to expand on that that is fine. That tag is still there and if there is a consensus and maybe miniature_golf:type = crazy_golf can be obtained later if desired.
It is using a combination of wiki pages, tag usage, etc you can get a better understanding. And often gardening leads to looking at areas of the wiki (you do reading up a lot) that have little care as in this case and can lead to better improvements to this. I see this as a benefit.
