Tags are much more varied than you might think. And then some. See here for

So some 25% have a capitol letter or a letter from another language ...
From that I would think there is a fair chance that 25% of the keys on
the db may not conform to the 'official' keys. Changing the upper case
to lower case may make some of them conform ..
toiletS .. to toilets ... while it may not mean the same thing to the
original mapper .. it may be understood by users and other mappers ..
something is lost but a fair bit is gained?
If an automated change is made .. there is nothing to stop the
automation adding a note (or appending to an existing note with the
original data?
