I've been a Betatester for EB Dirigo so i know. The point is not only signs - its about details to map which i today might not even know about. When i started mapping in early 2008 i mapped 3 towns with a total of 150000 residents more or less alone. So i have seen all streets, footways etc. I took notes - spoken, written, sketched etc. I got a very detailed map together within a couple of years. The area is now address complete. The point is that i today want to map the existance of sidewalks, street lights, surfaces. I didnt think of that back in 2008 so i dont have notes about it. Now i am systematically taking photos. Given that mapillary stays i can go back to those photos and put details in the map i am not even thinking about today. Roof shapes, building colour, individual trees, even more street signs. Even other people can do so. When i open notes today in areas i never or rarely visit i typically invite people to take mapillary photos. The more dense the map gets the more disputes about topologies we will get. Going back to photos taken is very easy to settle those disputes.
