Adding a category in the page does not cause this page appear in the category. I have just created a page, documenting my edits of wikidata tags and I can see the problem persists. See https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Mechanical_Edits/Rmikke/Adding_wikidata_entries and try to find it in the "Automated edits log" category.
