Had a quick look at the location. There all sorts of alignment issues. But
it is difficult to find a prevailing type of problem. The discrepencies go
in all directions. The terrain is relatively flat, so the typical parallax
error of previous versions of Bing imagery can be excluded. With a bit of
fantasy I could recognise the same problem that we had here in Italy: until
a couple of years back Bing imagery had a systematic alignment issue (in
addition to the parallax problem in steep terrain) of a couple of meters.
The present version of Bing imagery (in northern Italy) now aligns well
with Strava Heatmaps and can be trusted. It looks that also in the area you
mention the actual Bing imagery is reasonably well aligned road-wise with
Strava Heatmaps for riding and walking. So my advice would be to not try
realigning Bing imagery. Building footprints at Petra are off in all kind
of directions. The worst error I can see is the pier which is off, in
comparison with Strava walking heatmap by around 10 meters in direction
NNE.
