Jo
It sounds like you are missing a step. Here is what I do to EDIT a contact
entry. Note, my way is a little different then the other two ways which whir
the same as one another. <smile>
1. Bring up your contact list.
2. Locate the contact by typing in part of the name Example: G I G G to
bring up all contact starting with G I G G. In my case there are 6 of them.
Now arrow to the contact and press the CENTER of the arrow pad to open the
contact.
3. Now you should be at a screen that has all the contact information like
phone numbers, address information, email addresses and the the like.
4. At this point, arrow to the field you want to EDIT and press the center
of the arrow pad.
5. This will bring up a small list of option you can do with that part of
the contact.
6. Now Arrow up to EDIT and press the center of the arrow pad.
7. This will then take you into the field of the contact that you want to
EDIT.
If you notice, I never use SoftKey1 at all. Using the Select will in most
cases save you 1 key press and in many times more.

Hello Rev. Taliaferro,
Firstly to get to the device manager, there must be 4 zeros as in *#0000#
2 When you open the particular contact you wish to correct,
you must be looking at the contact in question, pressing key1 Options
should
generate a menu with 16 items. The highlight automatically places you on
the second choice 2 of 16. On this menu is edit. You must select it. If
you still can't get to the edit menu, perhaps we can ask the Doctor to
comment further on this issue.

Hi,
I have all updates on my N86 but when I go to Contacts using the 1 key and
select the one I want, after pressing the Enter key, I press options and
there is no option to edit in my list of choices. I can update over the
air
so don't know what I might be doing wrong. I do have Wi-Fi in my home.
Couldn't get the *#000# to get me to the device manager...never heard of
that shortcut. Any more thoughts? Thank you!

Hello Rev. Jo Taliaferro
1 Regarding editing your contact, open your contacts and navigate to the
contact you wish to correct, and press select on the specific contact.
2 Press key1 Options, and down arrow to Edit and press select. Now go
ahead and edit what ever field you need to.
3 Regarding your firmware, if you have either a WiFi in your home or a
data
plan, press *#0000# which will invoke the Device Manager, listen for the
firmware version and its date. In the USA, your firmware should read
30.009
If it is a lower number, then press key1 Options, and select update and
follow the prompts.

Hello,
I have an N86 phone and love it! But...today, I was trying to find the
specific details of a contact so I could edit it (as the phone number was
not correct and I was unable to get to the edit fields. Can someone help,
please. What is the latest firmware update, please? Is it from the
Nuance
website?
Thank you all!
