Hi.
I'm using a Nokia E5 with talks and apart from the problems with accessing
the symbol selection dialog when composing messages or other writing tasks,
talks seems to work fine. I think the symbol selection screen has been
changed on several phones in recent firmware updates, so you shouldn't make
a negative judgment about this phone simply for this reason. Its a lovely
entry level smartphone with a good well defined keyboard.
