The date is part of the normal profile screen. The time is not spoken. In
saying this, the Nokia startup tone will be played in other profiles as
well. In this case the initial question had to do with a person not
hearing the Nokia startup tone. My thinking is they may have switch there
phone to the silant profile. But anyway, if you do not want to hear the
date spoken when you switch to the normal profile, you can use the Talks
object viewer and tell Talks to use the role of ignore or status for that
line. If you use status, then you can use Talks long soft key2 to hear the
information on that line.

Well first of all, your N82 will never play the AT&T flying bars! The
Reason why is AT&T never sold the N82. So that is why it will not play
that. The Nokia N82 will play the Nokia startup tone as long as you are
not in the silant profile. So try tapping the power button and then arrow
down to normal and press Select to switch to the normal profile. then
turn
off and on your phone and see if the Nokia startup tone plays.

I've had my phone (Nokia n82) for about 3 years. Now, all of a sudden,
when I turn it on, it no longer plays the at&t notification music. Where
