You could try using pc suite to do this but personally I would go through those messatges and put any contact information within those messages into your contacts. If you were to go through those I am sure yo ucan find many that can be deleted. If they contain current appointments then put them into the calender. That is a lot of messages to be stored on the phone. It is nno surprise that the phone will hang when attempting to do anything with them.
