If the phone is using a wifi not her own it sounds like it totally
unsecured. A secure network will have the same signal strength as an
unsecured network.
Thirdly a phone will not use an unknown network unless an access point for
the network it's added in to the access points list in destinations. It
sounds to me like her phone is using her service provider's network as it
would be the only network the phone would use apart from her own wifi
network.
when you want to find out which network is being used then use the talks
softkey2 status reading command.
If talks says wireless LAN available then she is using the service
provider's internet connection. If her network is secure and it's being
used talks will say
secure wireless network

Subject: [Talks] E72 + Wi-Fi
For a friend with an E72
I am not up to speed on Talks and mobiles and need help with the above
phone
with regard to Wi-Fi.
Situation.
1. She has set up her phone with help to use her own wi fi connection
which
she had been using fine with Skype
2. in the last two weeks her phone is connection to a different Wi-Fi
network which I suspect is insecure and therefore causing poor
connectivity.
Questions
1. When you set up a Wi-Fi network is there a way of telling the phone
only
to use this network.
2. If the phone access another Wi-Fi network is there a way of getting the
phone not to use it especially if it is insecure.
Many thanks for your help on this one.
