TANGO DOWNTOWN presents
Ramiro Gigliotti
Musicality Seminar for Tango Dancers
Seminario de música para bailarines de tango

August 17-19 Albuquerque, New Mexico
Lloyd Shaw Dance Center, 5506 Coal SE

This seminar was designed for dancers of all levels who wish to enrich their
dancing by developing their ability to interpret music with both freedom and
precision. Topics to be covered include: the rhythmic, harmonic and melodic
structures of tango, milonga and vals cruzada and their application to the
dance; a study of the most important tango orchestras focusing on their
musical characteristics and history; a musical investigation of ornaments
and embellishments.

Although important theoretical information will be covered in the seminar,
this is a practical workshop ‹ come prepared to dance the whole time!

Ramiro Gigliotti has studied music at the Manuel de Falla Conservatory of
Music and the Argentine Musicians Syndicate in addition to performing with
the rock group La Piel de la Calle. He first studied with Juan Carlos Copes,
then with Pupi Castello and Jose Brahmecha (Turco Jose). Since 1997 he has
been a member of the Graciela Gonzalez Group, a collective devoted to the
deepening and enriching of tango education and performance. Last year he
taught his Seminar in Musicality to rave reviews throughout the U.S.,
Canada, and Italy. This past May he was guest instructor for Bridge to the
