if anyone needs a place to stay in new york i would highly recommend La Parada. it's a bed and (continental) breakfast run by lexa rosean, an extremely colorful character, in the east village. La Parada is in a very fun neighborhood has space for dancing or workshops or classes. there is a beautiful garden where there have been wonderful barbecues. lots of well known visiting teachers stay with her. some have held their workshops there. staying with lexa is like being at the epicenter of new york tango, she knows practically everybody and is very much loved. at $75(single) or $100(double) it's an extremely good deal by new york standards. there are also weekly rates.
