The Ist MILONGA MEETING / J-1
Shawn & Cathy of the Company TANGO-NOMADE welcome you to join the
international crowd of dancers on the shores of Lake Geneva ("Lac
Léman") for the world's first "International Milonga Meeting".
EDUARDO CAPUSSI & MARIANA FLORES (stars of Cosmo-Tango2001 and 200)
plus 4 other couples will accompany you to the rythmes of Milonga,
Candombe and the Chacarera. You will be able to learn to write the
steps down (system:Labanotation) with special theory-courses with
Shawn, discover how to apply the milonga-technique to the music of
Candombe and participate in 3 competence-levels of Milonga.
The 3-day event will take place at the "Jeunotel" (the new modern
Youth-Hostel) of Lausanne (ch. du Bois-de-Vaux 36). With the special
offer of 2milongamodules-paid = get the 3rd module for free, and the
very low special-price for room accomodations,.. your only worry will
be how long your feet will hold out !
Besides the excellent workshops... what else is happening ?
3 special evenings of dance with DJ's Cathy and Annamaria will be
composed of 30% Milonga music, 30% Tango music, 30% Tango-waltz, 5%
Chacareras and 5% of "unforgettable Cortinas".
An hour-long Film-mix showing the greatest starts of Tango : Osvaldo
Pugliese, Juan D'Arienzo, Fransisco Canara, Astor Piazzolla.... and
their orchestras.
Demonstrations from the teachers, groups of students, and some of the
Milonga-Meeting participants.
A world-wide first : présentation and participation of the GUAPOS
during the workshops and during the evenings).
A FREE initiation-course for the MILONGA (Friday night) will allow
newcomers to follow the beginners courses during the weekend, and
provide intermediates & advanced an opportunity to brush up on their
milonga.
For those of you who want to do some tourism Monday... we can point
you to a lake boat-trip to Evian, visit the Chillon Castle at
Montreux, and other local events.
