Thank you to everyone who attended the first All Night Milonga in NYC this past weekend. On September 12th I seriously considered cancelling the event, but I am glad I didn't. 125 tangueros showed up, including a bunch from out of town. As New Yorkers, we appreciate your support of our great city in this time of fear. The dance community here is very strong-hundreds of people dancing tango, but we always welcome the vitality of the fresh faces of visitors in the mix.
Since feedback was so positive, I am planning another All Night Milonga on November 10th in the same great space with the same great DJ's. We will expand the breakfast buffet, as the stampede at 2:30 am clearly illustrated a big need for serious food. It was a great thrill for me as hostess to look out across the packed floor at so many people feverishly dancing all night. We need that kind of happiness right now.
