Dear QuinTango Friends:
We hope to see you all during the 2002-03 season, which will bring us to Virginia, Maryland, Indiana, Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina. Here is an overview of our Fall schedule; more details are listed below and on our web site at http://www.quintango.com/concerts/ . QuinTango's Fall Season includes three November performances in North Carolina - a concert in Wilmington's historic Thalian Hall (a Main Stage Attraction), a concert at the Herb Young Community Center in Cary, and a performance of "The Story of Tango" for Snipes Elementary School in Wilmington. In Virginia's Northern Neck, we will open the season for the Rappahannock Arts Foundation's "On Stage" series in Kilmarnock. On Maryland's Eastern Shore we are the grand finale for Salisbury University's Fall Cultural Events. During Hispanic Heritage Month we will perform both our "Tango & Jazz" middle school program and our elementary program "The Story of Tango." We will end the year with our annual concert at Friendship Heights Village Center in Chevy Chase MD. And, to catch you up with QuinTango News from earlier in 2002: Our trip to France in April was an amazing flurry of tangos, champagne, beautiful Norman countryside and more new friends. May brought our Tango Festival 2002 at the National Building Museum (in DC) and an amazingly intense and successful week at the Piccolo Spoleto in Charleston SC. We also had a heartwarming reunion in July at the Virginia Highlands Festival. Finally, in August, we participated in the XII International Music Festival in Costa Rica – gave nine concerts, saw many old friends and made many new ones. The Festival is a great way to anchor your visit to Costa Rica and happens every summer. Finally, as I write, we are hard at work on our third CD – stay tuned. You have all been incredibly patient! Joan Singer, music director of QuinTango
