Friends -

A very special festival is developing in Alaska - imagine a rustic lodge
on a lake with a view of the mountains, in a forested area, with
sleeping cabins scattered throughout the woods, 19+ hours of daylight,
tango dancers from around the US and Europe and beyond, First rate
social dance instruction and contagious humor provided by Eric Jorissen
from Holland, afternoon and all-night milongas with music by first-rate
DJs, and a casual, all-inclusive atmosphere.

Before and after the event I have lined up guides who will be available
for whitewater rafting at a very low cost, and several people in
Anchorage will be available to lead hikes in the local mountains. It
will be an excellent opportunity to take a dancing vacation in Alaska
and get some outdoor adventures in while you're at it. Local tangueros
will also be opening their homes for visitors before and after the big
weekend party.

I am working out the final details of this event, but the lodge is
secured, Eric is confirmed for these dates, and already many people are
expressing interest in the event even before it has been advertised at
all. My goal is to have an affordable, comfortable, energized weekend
of dancing and socializing in a uniquely Alaskan setting, with the
opportunity for visitors to extend their stay to take in the spectacular
sights and adventures of Alaska.

I am also working out special airfare pricing on Alaska Airlines for
those towns who can gather 10 or more dancers on the same itinerary.
More details to follow..
