I am inviting all my tango friends to come to Murray's Vintage Venue for a great weekend with Korey Ireland and Karen Choun of Kansas City. Sat Nov 30, 2002 6-8 pm Class $10 each 8-11 pm Milonga $10 each Sun Dec 1, 2002 10-12 Class $10 each Package price for 2-2-hour lessons and 1 dance is $25.00. Dress simply elegant and you may bring light snacks. Murray's is licensed to sell beer and wine, so no outside liquor brought in. Smoke free for a healthy atmosphere. Bio: Korey Ireland and Karen Choun Korey and Karen are Argentine Tango specialists! Their combined tango experience spans 3 continents and countless miles danced around the social dance floors of Buenos Aires, Berlin, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Denver, Portland, Havana, Amsterdam, and Nijmegen, in short, nearly all of the world's international tango centers. They have studied and trained with several of the leading Argentine and European masters, including Pablo Veron and Gustavo Naivera (stars of Sally Porter's "The Tango Lesson"), Gloria and Eduardo Arquimbau, Susanna Miller, Eric Jeurrison, Brigitta Winkler, Lucianna Valle, Fernanda Ghi and Guillermo Merlo. As performers, Karen and Korey were featured in the International Tango festival in Nijmegen, Holland, as well as the Kansas City Art Institute's Masquerade Ball, and "Sierra Latina" at Just off Broadway and the Music Hall in Kansas City. Class Description: Argentine Tango Enjoy the beauty and romance of this Argentine social dance. This course will cover the fundamental structures and technique of the dance with an emphasis on musicality and improvisation. Learn to move as one with your partner and to interpret the dynamic and expressive music of Argentine Tango. No prior experience required, but the classes will be valuable for dancers of all levels. It is not necessary to have a dance partner and you will be encouraged to change partners frequently. Karen and Korey's teaching focuses on connection, musicality, dynamics of lead and follow, and improvisation. Come if you can, expect a great weekend.
