Rock variations, planeos, stops ("paradas"), advance footwork on
giros (lapis, rulo, amague...)

2:30pm - 4:20pm : All levels with Mariana
***Special class for followers (leaders who would like to learn follower
technique and embellishments are welcome)

INSTRUCTORS:

JAK KARAKO:  Jak is the manager of BailaTango and he is one of the well
known instructors in NY City.
Jak is an entertaining, but committed teacher whose classes always attract
numerous Tango lovers. Jak's teaching of Tango is such an enjoyable
experience that his students never miss the opportunity to take his
workshops whenever they are offered.
This is the first time Jak is teaching in Boston.
Jak performed in many locations not only in NYC, but also all over the world
(Istanbul, Rome, Munich etc...)

MARIANA PARMA is an instructor, choreographer and performer and has a B.A.
in dance from Rutgers University. She has been featured in motion pictures,
national commercials and has worked with Broadway choreographers for musical
and film productions. She specializes in Tango, Salsa, Mambo,  and Latin
American Folk.
Mariana completed a successful two month run as principal dancer and
supervising choreographer in "Todo Tango" at the Thalia Theatre in Queens,
NY, in 2001.
In 2002, her most recent achievements include:
-Produced and performs in the new dance show Swango the Fusion with Gotan
Project.
-Worked with Hinton Battle, 3 time Tony Award winner, in the musical
workshop, The Bronx Casket Company.

ARGENTINE TANGO MUSICIANS:
Eduardo & Mariano are coming directly from Argentina. They are currently
touring US for various performances.
Eduardo (flute) and Mariano (guitar & piano) are among the most respected
Tango musicians in Argentina.

THE BELLY DANCER:
Hannah: began her Middle Eastern dance study in 1988 in Syracuse. Over the
next ten years she studied and performed in Boston and San Francisco. She
returned to Syracuse, NY 4 years ago and has been teaching this form since.
She also regularly studies Flamenco, Argentine Tango and Salsa dance form,
as well as teaching yoga.

NEAR EASTERN MUSICIANS:
Hamza Zeytinoglu:  Hamza Zeytinoglu is well known in Boston as one of the
founders of today's Tango community. While committed to Tango,  Hamza also
fosters deep affection for Near/Middle Eastern culture and music and has
chosen playing as one of the forms of his artistic expression.

Garo Papasian: Garo has been playing Near /Middle Eastern music for the most
part of his life and he is now a professional musician whose entertaining
and spectacular performances are famous in Boston's Near/Middle Eastern
ethnic restaurants & other establishments.
