Here it is--bigger and better with more dancing then you can imagine in one
weekend. In brief:

Dates: Friday-Sunday, February 14-16, 2003
Instructors: Miriam & Hugo (Buenos Aires/L.A.),
Alicia Pons (Buenos Aires), Jorge Nel
(Columbia/Miami) & Deena Burke (Seattle),
and Felipe & Kat (Italy/San Francisco).
Classes, workshops, milongas: 29 classes (Beg-Adv),
3 supervised practicas, 6 milongas (2 of them all night!)
one 6-piece tango orchestra, and one master's
performance show.
Price: $135 for the all daytime workshops and practicas
(if paid by Feb 7, 2003). Milongas priced separately.

Mission: Invite a small select group of tango maestros to Portland for
workshops, hire a fabulous 6-piece tango orchestral, invite the best tango
DJs, rent two fabulous dance halls and offer as many milongas and practicas
as possible to attract a ton of great tango dancers, teachers, students, and
performers for an incredible, magical, affordable three days of tango
dancing, lessons, schmoozing, eating, and hanging out!
Instructors: This year I have invited the top five teachers from our 2002

Alicia is an elegant and accomplished
milonguero style dancer who dances, teaches, and performs with Cacho Dante
in Buenos Aires. Alicia has had limited exposure in the United States, but
from viewing a video tape and listening to rave review of leaders who have
danced with her, I believe she will make an enormous contribution to the
style, technique, elegance and that elusive quality that makes great
followers so desirable.
Orchestra: Betram Levy on Bandonion with the Seattle City Sextet
Tango Orchestra (www.tangoheart.com/index.htm) play Saturday night.
DJ's include Dan Boccia from Alaska, Jo Ann Palubinskas from San Francisco
and Robin Thomas from New York.
Venues: All workshops and the Thursday and Sunday milongas will be at the
Viscount Ballroom (www.viscountballroom.com), 722 E Burnside, Portland,
Oregon. Friday and Saturday
milonga will be at the Norse Hall, 111 NE 11th, just 5 blocks from the
Viscount. Both locations have a full bar. (Minors may attend all events
except evening milongas at the Viscount)
