A BRIEF PROFILE OF AN EXOTIC ATANGO VACATION: People attending the Vacations
appreciate the intimacy of small groups, with friendly, outgoing people,
curious about new places, cultures, and "happenings." These trips are NOT
congresos or Tango festivals; I like to offer experiences with the local
people, unusual settings, and lots of friendship time with the teachers. We
dance in class about three hours a day, have practicas and milongas most
nights, and explore different activities together; or some spend solitary
time during the day as a treat they don't get at home! Here are some comments
from those who have participated in trips!
And here are dates of upcoming Exotic Tango Vacations: Jan. 31-Feb. 2 TANGO
ROYALE, Victoria, Vancouver Island BC, Canada; TANGO MAYA/AZTECA, Feb.
28-March 8, San Miguel de Allende and Oaxaca, Mexico.
Argentine dancer Fabian Salas, says of the Exotic Tango Vacations:
“"Tango Vacations are the perfect combination of tango and vacation. While
learning tango with some of the best teachers, you will also have the chance
of exploring the most unique places that this world has to offer. Anywhere
from great beaches, to the unique ruins of Egypt, everything is possible in
Christina's idea of what a "great tango experience should be." And everything
happens so smooth and easy, it's amazing!!!
You will have the perfect balance between learning Tango and having time
to enjoy your vacation. This is one of the clues of the experience. You have
to enjoy it. The other important thing is the energy of the trip. Put
together by someone who really understands how energy flows, the group finds
the right atmosphere to relax and learn at the same time. Everything is taken
care of. All the little details are also there, so you don't have to worry
about anything.
Just let yourself be drawn into one of the 'great experiences of a
lifetime.' I hope to see you there with us."

ENGLISH TRANSLATION:
"Christina,
Thank you so much for your invitation to two marvellous and productive weeks
of tango. The experiences of tango by the Sea and in San Miguel de Allende
showed that with love and dedication, you can reach outstanding objectives.
It also shows your own capacity to understand and acknowledge the needs and
feelings of your group. They choose your vacations simply, because they are
different, fun, unconventional, unique, and EXOTIC.
As a tango instructor, I felt very comfortable and satisfied with my work. I
accomplished the goal I had wanted: TO LOVE PEOPLE EVEN MORE.
Christina; everything you undertake will be SUCCESSFUL, everything that you
feel you will ACCOMPLISH, and anything you love will be POSSIBLE, because of
the great and noble heart that you soul EXPRESSES.
I love you, and GOD bless you until next time.
EDUARDO
"(About Eduardo:)They (the students in San Miguel) must have loved learning
with him, as we did. He will stay forever in my memory as a role model for
the intensity, focus and passion of tango. I am so glad we came, and that he
was the teacher in both places. My tango friends here say my dancing has gone
up several notches as a result.
Fabian was also great...I have my pictures back, and of course they are pale
in comparison with the real expreience we had there. Thanks to you, again and
again, for arranging it.

Hi Christina,
A note to say how much I enjoyed TBTS. It exceeded my expectations. I think
there was a synergy between the parts that created that.
I didn't know what to expect from the resort and was imagining crowded
beaches and a hotel type, tourist setting. I was very happy to see Costa Azul
and its relatively deserted beaches. The lack of people could have become
very boring. The TBTS people provided a nice group of very social people.
The staff at Costa Azul was top notch. They went out of their way to create a
nice ambiance. They were a daily friendly presence, and also created the
special events like the bonfires, barbecue, and fiesta night.
The whales and sea turtles were an added bonus. ..
The instructors, Fabian and Edwardo were great. ..
I want to compliment you on organizing a very nice event.

"Tango by the Sea was one of the best tango experiences/vacations I?ve
had. The combination of good classes taught by excellent teachers in an
absolutely beautiful location (with enough free time to enjoy it!) made
for a wonderful week that I?ll always remember. It was great to meet so
many nice people from all over the world, and after a week of dancing,
exploring the area, hanging out, eating, drinking, and being together, I
feel like I made a slew of new friends."
-Paul
"Tango by the Sea was my best vacation ever. Gorgeous location, great
instruction, plus, new friends who love tango as much as I do. It was the
ultimate in relaxation and fun, with just the right mix of scheduled
activities and free time. When I close my eyes, I can still hear the sounds
of the surf and tango music drifting into my room through the palm trees.
Lovely! "
I received a copy of Christina's e-mail to you, and I have to tell you that
the Mexico trip was wonderful. I heard only positive comments from the other
participants. Christina and Woody and the other dancers were just joyous,
wonderful people to be with, and every detail was attended to with conviction
and grace. The instructors were competent and caring. I found it a fabulous
way to see a new part of the world without ever feeling lonely. I met many
new people whom I hope will remain friends. They made it a lot of fun, and I
was able to improve my tango a lot, too. I left feeling culturally enriched
and looking forward to Italy. I hope you decide to go.
Regards ~ Gail
My life was filled with incredible dancing (El Indio and Mariana were even
better than I imagined they would be. I knew we were in for some great
dancing but their spirit, enthusiasm, zest for life were more than I had
dreamed it would be)
Beautiful images, delicious smells and tastes, happy times and love. I came
home with a serene sense of having spent time in the most beautiful setting,
with truly remarkable, loving people. Your dedication to providing dancing
experiences in unique and beautiful places.
I thought the mixture of "topics" for the lessons, was perfect.
I wanted you to know right awayhow much Iloved and appreciated everything you
did to make it such a wonderful week
for everyone.

“It was all very relaxed. I felt cared for, and taken care of. To have no
responsibilty other than to dance and wander strange towns. And to be cooked
for...so nice.
It seemed very much like a part of me long asleep began to awaken. I was
often filled with incredible emotion. It was …freeing. I am glad for that.
El Indio and Mariana were wonderful teachers. I really learned so much. It
was wonderful, grand, magical, virtually unreal. Thank you.”

I loved the cooking class, trip to Orvieto, the "spontaneous" after dinner
guitar/harmonica/songfest/milonga on the patio at Hotel Crispolti!!! Also,
the folk dancing lesson followed by El Indio's "Carnegie Hall" dance
demonstration which blew me away.
Tango continues to be a humbling experience, as well as a heartwrenching, and
heart opening one. The music moves my soul, the close embrace offers me the
touch I want, a well-led tango gives me sweet body- and heart-centered
memories, the parting from a good dancer leaves me wanting more!!
I felt transfixed by the beauty, the light, the color of the countryside in
Todi. Peering out the window, from the dance floor at the Crispolti, and
seeing the light change every 15 minutes...Heaven!
I came with an open heart and open "pores" and with a sense of wonder. I
drank everything in, and got a little drunk in the process! Almost everything
touched me deeply...the country, the Italians, the people in our group,
living my life with joy...and dancing.”

“Teachers were superb! El Indio was the reason I went to Todi;
not Italy. And I was well rewarded by his superior teaching and
grande corazon. Mariana was also a wonderful teacher.
But most of all, El Indio is a wonderful example of a grande corazon
Which opens the heart just to be in the presence of such a loving human
being.”
