one intermediate/ advanced series.

7:00-8:20 PM Absolute Beginner's Level Tango

Seattle class: Greenwood Senior Activity Center, 525 N 85th Street
Over the course of 8 weeks, Tony and Ilana will introduce the
fundamental elements of social dancing: walking, leading the cross,
front/back Ochos, parallel/cross foot system, fun leg games, navigation
skill, and improvisation. Tony & Ilana's teaching approach emphasizes the
social aspect of the Argentine tango. This class will prepare you the skill
and the confidence to dance Argentine tango socially. This is not just a
class for dancing step patterns, but it will also improve your posture,
coordination, balance, and rhythm. No dance experience required. Come, have
fun and meet new friends! Class includes one field trip to the Saturday
night dance.
8:30-9:50PM Close Embrace Tango (Int.-Adv. Level)

Seattle class: Greenwood Senior Activity Center, 525 N 85th Street
This series will focus on dancing tango in a close embrace with
emphases on the milonguero style rhythm and connection. Besides continue
working on musicality, connection, and navigation skills, in these 8 weeks,
Tony & Ilana will explore turn variations, consecutive turns, change of
direction, sacadas and boleos. Tony & Ilana have been studying the
Milonguero style for over 6 years with masters Susana Miller, Brigitte
Winkler and Cacho Dante. It is one of their most favored tango styles to
dance on the social dance floor and one of the styles they are passionate in
teaching. Tony and Ilana are responsible instructors. They put a lot of time
and care into constructing a fun and informative class to ensure something
new to learn for dancers at any level. Their class concentrates not only on
building your dance with step patterns, but also on how it connects back to
music and body communication.
