Tango in Toronto

Another round of tango technique lessons has started at EL Rancho, the
classes are drop-in however they are structured in 10 classes as follows:
We start the first 30 to 45 minutes with stretching and exercises related to
the tango dance, then we work in the lead and follow techniques of various
tango choreographic units, patterns and figures the rest of the two hours.
In the first five classes we start to learning the lead/follow techniques
for weight transfer, walks in different directions, crosses, ochos, figures,
and moving around the floor in a linear manner. The last 5 classes we
incorporate circular motions on the floor, like Merry-go-round, giros,
grape-vines, curls and molinetes.
The emphasis is on technique, improvisation and developing your own style
and your own sequences. The classes will benefit the beginners as well as
the intermediate by improving the quality of the movement and position.
