TANGO BY THE SEA
At Costa Azul Eco-resort near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Jan 4 –10, 2004
The most popular of our vacations, this sojourn is the perfect sunny gettaway
from a cold, gray winter. Teachers?? We have had Eduardo Saucedo, Fabian
Salas with Carolina del Rivero, Julian Miller and Claudia; but we have not
yet chosen for 2004.
We will fill up early, so register soon!
Description:
If you like lazing around a resort 50 minutes from a city (Puerto
Vallarta) in MEXICO, lying in hammocks, sailing, snorkeling, surfing,
kayaking, horseback riding… then this trip is for you!
We have yoga early mornings on the beach, and dance in a big shaded “
palapa” house, about 25 yards from the ocean waves. Temperature about 80 f.
in the day, 70 at night. Share in the evenings of sensual poetry reading and
the famous “erotic dessert night”. Cozy up by the bonfire on our night on
the beach, just a few yards away from the night's milonga.
ABOUT COSTA AZUL ADVENTURE RESORT
This hidden paradise is 30 minutes from the Puerto Vallarta airport, and
50 minutes from downtown PV. It is in the tiny village of San Francisco, or
“San Pancho,” as the locals call it. Until 1981, the village had no
electricity, and was a simple fishing village with the natural “palapa” huts
that are seen in many coastal areas of Mexico. The Costa Azul resort is
completely congruent with the rustic and wild beauty of Mexican jungle, with
open porches and a palapa (palm frond and rushes) roof on the large dining
area, immediately on the ocean. You can have a margarita, watch the sunset,
see the dolphins jumping, and feel sweet sea breezes while you wait for
dinner!
Mexican Fiesta night is FABULOUS! There are mariachis, a huge buffet of
delicious food, folk dancing from the different provinces in Mexico, tequila
shots, and other delights.
Suites and villas are all spacious, large enough to practice dance
steps, with 2 queen beds at least, and most have two sleeping couches as
well. Villas have kitchens and patios, rather than balconies. All
accommodations have lovely ocean views.
A varied menu is provided, with some vegetarian dishes, lots of seafood,
and specialties for the American palate.
Price is not exact yet, but it will be in the vicinity of $1,100 USD,
(registered by April 1, 2003) including ALL meals, wine, beer, Mexican
Fiesta night, and all tango classes, show, milongas. E-mail: [email protected].
