This class is important for men as well as for women, as it will improve our overall skills as dancers, giving us a greater sense of our creative capabilities when dancing with a partner. 2:45PM "FOUND TANGOS" Part I. Dancers everywhere are experimenting with alternative music for tango, but what makes a contemporary song a "found tango?" How to identify it, and how to dance to it? This workshop will address such questions by challenging conventional notions of tango musicality, rhythm, and creative interpretation. 4:30PM "FOUND TANGOS" Part II. Once in the realm of alternative tango music, one can reach for the variety and scope of expression that we know in traditional tango music. In a series of creative exercises will explore qualities (smooth/choppy, slow/fast) and moods (nostalgic, enthusiastic, languid) of found music that expand the possibilities of the language of tango.
