It is a real privilege to have Carlos and Maria come to New Zealand.
If it were not for Miriam Cuperman, Carlos and Maria would not be coming and
so I'd like to publicly thank Miriam for all her efforts. ¡Muchas gracias

Miriam has arranged workshops for Carlos alone in Auckland twice before.
When my partner, Sarah Heyward, first said to me do you want to go up to
Auckland to have lessons with Carlos Rivarola? I said "who's that?". Sarah
tapped the cover of our video of the movie "TANGO" showing a deep split
tango position and said "this guy". It dawns on me: "Oh!! THAT guy! We're
going!"
Have you ever had lessons from Carlos before? He is so elegant, calm,
focussed, and graceful! For me, just the way he moves is inspiring. I
concur with Geoff who said "Carlos is the kind of dancer that affects the
way that you dance just by watching him."

last year with the inclusion of 4 great teachers from Melbourne, but with
Carlos and Maria it puts the festival at an international standard which can
only be fantastic for Tango in NZ. Heidi, your a gem! If you are not booked

Everyone is limited to only one class with Carlos and Maria at the festival.
(Plus private lessons by arrangement) However, if you want more time with
them, as many of you know, they are teaching in both Auckland and Wellington

Sorry to everyone in Christchurch and Nelson and elsewhere who will have to
travel to get to their classes. It is great to see some of you making the
extra effort.
If you are planning to travel, please book first because some of the classes
are filling up already.
In Wellington, the Bs As style milonga at 7 on Sunday 11th should be a
blast. There will be wait staff who will give you a free glass of bubbles
on arrival (or juice) just to get things kicked off well. Some light
refreshments provided but feel free to BYO food and drink Everyone will
have somewhere to sit at a table. Wonderful Tango dance music in tandas and
a serious sound system to bring it to life. Carlos and Maria have agreed to
do a performance. I believe Wellington has never before seen Tango
performers of the quality of Carlos and Maria. The "Collectors-Item"
Tickets can be purched from either Sarah or myself for $20. There are only
60 tickets.
A reminder that because most people will be at the Colectívo festival there
will be no class on 15 May and no práctica on 17 May.
