Paulo Araujo just recently completed his second visit to the SF Bay Area. His first visit last November was only 4 days, but fortunately this time he was able to stay for about 3 weeks. Once word of mouth spread about his superb dancing and brilliantly simple but comprehensive teaching techniques, he barely had time to eat or sleep. There were constant calls and visits from new and old friends, students, and colleagues. He wishes to thank the tango community in the Bay area with all his heart for their warm generosity and support. Even though airfares from Rio de Janeiro are very expensive (it costs much more in price if you originate from Brasil than if you originate from the US - no one knows why!) he was more than able to pay for his passage and expenses. But most of all your support meant so much to him because it amply demonstrated once again that tango can warm the hearts of all who come in contact with it, whether they meet it for the first time or the thousandth time. It was an extremely rewarding to Paulo to experience this great positive feedback from all of you who came into contact with him. He hopes to return to teach in the Bay area after teaching at the Portland Tango Festival which will be October 15-19th, 2003. For information about this festival contact Clay Nelson at [email protected].
