TOMAS HOWLIN & FLORENCIA TACCETTI
_______________________________________________________

FLORENCIA AND TOMAS met in Buenos Aires in 1995.
Together, they assisted in Graciela Gonzalez s classes
and studied extensively with Gustavo Naveira.

Subsequent years of research, practice and groundwork
resulted in a mutual devotion to the old milongueros.
Their shared tango background established the
foundation of their strong friendship and deep respect
for each other. Their affinity in approach and
understanding of tango makes them exceptional dance
and teaching partners.

This will be the fourth time the dynamic duo will
teach and perform in Minneapolis. Everyone who
participates in their classes will benefit from the
deep, rich understanding and knowledge of tango shared
by the combination of Florencia and Tomas.

TOMAS HOWLIN

Tomas was born, raised and learned to dance and teach
Tango in Buenos Aires.

In his pursuit of learning the dance of Tango and
subsequently to teach Tango he has been privileged to
have as his instructors and mentors many of those
recognized as the greatest Tango dancers and teachers
of all time. Tomas was inspired to take a very
traditional path to learn to dance and teach tango.
He studied as fervently as a follower, with both the
best male and female dancers, as he as did as a
leader.

He is one of very few teachers traveling worldwide who
has taught regularly in the most well know Academies
of Buenos Aires. This background has lead to his
having an extraordinary knowledge, sensitivity and
pedagogy, as a dancer and instructor, which are unique
and exceptional. Through this understanding and
dedication Tomas creates a bridge linking traditional
tango with the newest tendencies, while always
remaining true to authentic Argentine tango.

Tomas believes in a natural, relaxed, comfortable,
thoughtful and skillful Tango, one that is unique for
each person. He is appreciated for his sharp eye,
gentle humor, accessibility and his recognition of,
and attention to, the individuality of each student.

The appreciation of his talent as a dancer and teacher
and his ten years of teaching and performing
experience in Argentina, North America and Europe lead
to his recognition as a Master Teacher by the
University of Buenos Aires and also to his current
work for the Secretary of Culture Of Buenos Aires.

FLORENCIA TACCETTI

while a dancer of the Contemporary Dance Ballet
Theater in Buenos Aires. Florencia s dancing
represents the best of the best of the tango dancers
of Buenos Aires.

movement belie the intricacies of the dance. Her
ability to dance consistently and beautifully with
numerous professional dancers who dance differing
styles of tango is a testament to her comprehensive
training and understanding of Tango.

Florencia began teaching in 1988 and has taught Tango
and danced Tango socially in BA consistently since
then. She also has taught extensively throughout
Europe and the United States.

She has applied her dance knowledge and experience

performances, appearing in the movie, Tango Bar, and
performing with some of the greatest contemporary
tango dancers such as Pablo Veron (star of the film
The Tango Lesson ), Gustavo Naveira (who also appears
in The Tango Lesson ), and the legendary Pepito

with her extensive training, experience and
understanding of tango to her teaching.
