SUSANA MILLER returns to DC

JUNE 10-16, 2004

Join us in welcoming Susana Miller on her long-anticipated return to the
DC area. It will be an exciting weekend with many workshops and, believe
it or not, three milongas.

GROUP WORKSHOPS

FRIDAY, JUNE 11

Lead and Follow Fundamentals
(All Levels) 7:00 - 8:30 pm
Susana strongly recommends starting with this class whether you're a
beginner or an advanced dancer. Focus on posture, axis, walking, embrace
and connection. Lead-and-follow technique for balance.

SATURDAY, JUNE 12

Enlarge Your Tango
(Int/Adv) 12:30 - 2:00 pm
Incorporate the language of the Portenos into your tango, with
sensuality and humor. Steps include: half-times, large and small boleos,
and communication via body movements.

Turn Your Vals Around
(Int/Adv) 2:15 - 3:45 pm
Good turns are the signature of a good tango Vals. Learn how to maintain
connection, control velocity and manage your energy for tighter and
faster turns with less effort.

Milonga Con Traspie
(Int/Adv) 4:00 - 5:30 pm
Susana uses alternative music and a variety of methods to help you
master this playfully rhythmic element of milonga.

SUNDAY, JUNE 13

Musicality: Dance to Pugliese
(Adv) 12:30 - 2:00 pm
Because of its drama, suspense and frequent shifts in tempo, Pugliese's
music offers many challenges. Leaders and followers will learn to use
pauses, boleos, sacadas and adornments to express the music of one of
tango's most sophisticated orchestras.

Musicality: Dance to D'Arienzo
(Adv) 2:15 - 3:45 pm
Irresistible, infectious, powerful. These are some of the words used to
describe the music of D'Arienzo. It provides many opportunities for
rhythmic accents, half-beats, traspie and adornments so both leaders and
followers can interpret the music of "El Rey de Compas," the King of
Rhythm.

Susana's Choice
(Adv) 4:00 - 5:30 pm
Classic steps and/or what's in vogue today in Buenos Aires, this class
will be whatever strikes Susana's fancy. And being the last class, it
will be Miller time.
