Don't miss this weekend in Chicago, featuring: Tono, Roberto & Valeria June 4-5 The Argentine milongueros who delighted us at milonga Nuestro Tango on April 30 come to Chicago for a showcase at Milonga Vida on June 4 and 3 workshops at Dance Connection on June 5. Tono Gallesio and Roberto Canello (with whom Phoebe had her most memorable tandas in BsAs-March 2004), with Valeria Euguia have enthralled workshop attendees in Champaign / Urbana & St. Louis. Their workshops will focus on milonguero salon style tango, vals and milonga straight from Bs.As. Saturday, June 5 at Dance Connection (3117 N. Clybourn) 12:00-1:30 p Tango: The use of body position in leans, embellishments & calesitas 1:45-3:15 p Milonga: Ochos with traspie using the music 3:30-5:00 p Vals: Combinations of giros to the music ($20 each workshop; $50 for all 3) All of the following workshops are designed for tango dancers of all levels. Tono, Roberto & Valeria will be available for private lessons throughout the weekend (from Fri. late afternoon thru Sun. early evening); rates are: $80/hour for 1 or 2 people to study with either Tono or Roberto; $150 for 2 hours; additional $20 per hour for Valeria in addition to Tono or Roberto).
