"Pablo Pugliese" A Rare Visit by the Latest Generation of the Renowned Pugliese Family
In the SF Bay Area July 7-12, 2004 Pablo began his study of Argentine Tango at the age of nine with his parents Esther and Mingo Pugliese. The Puglieses are famous for having taught many of the current generation of professional tango dancers. Pablo won the Gold Medal in the Toreneos Juveniles Bonaerences Championship in Buenos Aires at the age of 14 and has since gone on to perform and teach master classes in cities across the US and around the world, including: Tokyo, Paris, Madrid, Berlin and Hamburg. He has been a dancer and choreographer for many shows, was the advisor and choreographer for Compania Tango Express working with Claudio Hoffman, Pilar Alvarez and Daniel Binelli. He has also shared the stage with renowned tango musicians and composers such as Hector Del Curto and Fernando Otero and is currently part of Pablo Aslan's group "Avantango," with whom he performed at NYC's Town Hall. Pablo is a complete and versatile dancer with experience in both modern dance and ballet. He has received scholarships from the prestigious Alvin Ailey School and the Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival. He currently lives in NYC and teaches tango at Dance Manhattan. His teaching is based on strong technique combined with creativity and improvisation.
