JEAN-SEBASTIAN RAMPAZZI & CECILIA GONZALES in Town June 18th to 27th: 1.) Spaces are filling up for their 20-hour intensive tango week workshop as well as for their private lesson availability. Several dancers from across the country will be joining us for the classes & festivities. Please take the time to plan ahead (register, sign-up, partner-up, find housing accommodations, etc) because it'll be one crazy (but fun) week once things get started!!! Class walk-ins are welcome, however, priority will be given to those folks who have pre-registered (w.r.t. partnering and other issues that may arise). I have recruited several advanced "Taxi" dancers to help us minimize partnering issues for the folks who have signed up solo.
2.) To kick off the week, JS&C will be teaching & performing at Rhythm and Motion on Friday, June 18th. This Friday class is not part of the workshop (it's hosted independently by Miller and Claudia w/ no registration required). It's a great way to sample their teaching style and also meet many of the other local and visiting workshop attendees. 3.) The first Saturday workshop class (June 19th) still has lots of space. This class, great for beginners, will be a good prelude to taking more classes during the week. More advanced dancers can iron out their fundamental issues before taking more difficult classes (highly recommended - especially if you've never studied with JS&C)! 4.) JS&C will perform at Cellspace on June 23rd. That night we will host an "Oriental Theme Night" in their honor (at Cecilia's request). There will be prizes (free private lessons from Homer to the best dressed male and female attendees). You can dress up in a Yin-Yang sort of way (i.e. black & white) or wear a traditional Asian dress, Ninja, or Samurai costume, etc. 5.) Regular Foundation Classes at The Beat will be Cancelled on Thursday, June 22nd, and resume the following week. Instead, tango Foundation students should consider taking the JS&C Saturday workshop classes A & B. 6.) JS&C may do a demo at The Beat All-Nighter this month (see below for more allnighter info). 7.) Complete info on JS&C, their classes, private lessons, and how to sign-up can be found at http://organictango.info/jsc_SF.htm. Take Care, Homer :) http://organictango.info "And the day came when the risk it took to remain tight inside the bud was more painful than the risk it took to bloom." Anais Nin "It's more of a personal drive to present something internally meaningful I suppose than to seek the external experience!" Homer's feeling about performing (ughhh)!!!
