TANGO ZEN: Walking Dance Meditation This workshop introduces Tango Zen, an innovative yet natural idea of meditating while dancing Tango. Referring to striking similarities between the two, this workshop will also introduce methods through which both tango dancers and non-dancers can practice Tango Zen to experience and enjoy the wonderful benefits, which both Tango and Zen have to offer. ---------- Class Schedule --------------------- Saturday, July 10 in Utrecht 15:00-16:30 Tango Zen I: "Body moves, mind flows." Introducing basic concept of Zen meditation, breathing and posture, warming up for exercises, being mindful of oneself, and connecting with one's partner and music. 17:00-18:30 Tango I from a meditative perspective: Approach to tango from a meditative perspective. Focus on centering, weight-shifting, and walking in close embrace. Sunday, July 11 in Utrecht 13:00-14:30 Tango Zen II: "Tango Zen mind, beginner's mind" Focus on refining movements by revisiting well-known tango steps and mindfulness, which was established in Tango Zen I. 15:00-16:30 Tango II from a meditative perspective: Adding complexity to your tango by practicing simple movements. Wednesday, July 14 TIME, LOCATION, TOPICS: TBA FEE: 15 euro per class (and 55 euro for 4 classes). Classes are open to all levels. Private lessons are also available.
