This is a tango festival "By dancers; For Dancers". Over 30 hours of dancing from Friday through Monday at dawn. Each of these Denver festivals attracts 300-400 dancers, many of whom are teachers or top dancers in their home communities. These are the fanatics who visit Portland, Denver or Buenos Aires regularly. - Buenos Aires quality floor-craft advised. - Pricing from $50 (milonga pass) to $125 (Festival Pass - 4 classes plus all milongas). - Hotel: $69/night plus tax; free shuttle from airport. - Details, registration and credit card payments: http://www.tango.org/lab04.html The Labor Day Tango Festival in Denver features some of the top DJs in the US and teachers who are well known for their emphasis and skill in teaching the close-embrace or "milonguero" style of tango. Feature teachers this year are Christopher & Caroline from San Francisco. See the website for a preliminary schedule and full list of teachers and DJs. New and special this year are "Alternative Music Milongas", which were really popular at the Memorial Day festival. Also, I've added Friday afternoon workshops, so you can take early arrival classes on Wed, Thur or Fri. New to close embrace? I've added an "adv-beginner" track for intermediates in other styles who want a fast-track to close-embrace tango. These are special, discounted classes. And once again, Tango Colorado will sponsor the wonderful outdoor Milonga at the enchanting Cheesman Park Pavilion. Pictures at: http://www.tango.org/dance/LaborPhotos.html Please, register early, as I will be out of town the weeks prior to the festival (visiting Moscow!!!) And PLEASE, PLEASE reserve a space by email even if you intend to purchase at-the-door, so that I can plan for dance floor and a sufficient block of hotel rooms.
