Mayor Thomas M. Menino of Boston has proclaimed this Wednesday, 23 June as Boston Tango Day in celebration of the Boston Tango Festival. In response to the show of support from our community and from many who are travelling from out-of-town (especially New York and surrounding areas) who might need an extra day to complete registration, we will continue accepting registration through Wednesday from 6-8pm under the advanced preregistration rate. We remind you that the festival will consist of classes (1.5 hrs each, 4 parallel tracks of up to 4 each track) daily from 10:15AM-5:45PM on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and from 3-5PM on Sunday. There will also be 5 Milongas:
-4 on Land -1 at Sea via the Tango/Salsa Cruise -1 One occurring just after an Argentine Asado (BBQ) Don't miss this exciting festival. We also remind you that online registration ends at midnight Wednesday morning. If you can't get to a computer terminal by then, don't worry. Just come to the Mt. Auburn VFW Post, 688 Huron Ave, Cambridge on Wednesday to complete your registration without any penalties. You may also go directly to the location where the classes will be held on Thursday morning, Boston Arts Academy, 174 Ipswich St, Boston, at the corner of Ipswich and Landsdowne Street across from historic Fenway Park. Our venue are easily accessible by subway and parking is available. We look forward to welcoming back many tangueros and tangueras from the New York and surrounding areas and invite those who are still making plans for the week to come up to Boston and celebrate the festival with all of us New Englanders this week.
