Plaza Bohemia opened on September 5, 2004, at Maipu 444, a half block from
Corrientes. It's a newly renovated studio/milonga that is open 7 days a
week. It has a new parquet floor, six ceiling fans, two air-conditioning
units and seating for 100. Emilio and Chiri are the owners.

Alito Santamaria (75 years young) has organized many milongas in his time:
Lima, Amba, Tacuari, Palacio Rivadavia, Mariano Acosto, Almagro, Tourbillon,
Savoy, Agusteo, Piccadilly, and many others. He has a new milonga on
Wednesdays in Plaza Bohemia. Carlos Figueras provides excellent music, and
Norma is at the door to welcome you.

I was there last night from 9:30 to 2:00 enjoying the music and dancing with
milongueros Ricardo Suarez, Hugo Rojas, Hector Pellozo, Eduardo Calo and
Alito. There are milongas that are so crowded, it's impossible to dance.
I prefer to go where there are fewer dancers. Last night at Plaza Bohemia
was perfect for me.
