Hola hola
This year, 2005, is the 15th anniversary! of my Tango Tours to Argentina then I
decided to do two trips to celebrate. The first one April 27th - May 9th. The
second one: Oct 26th - Nov 7th.
We'll be leaving on Wed, April 27th from SFO (San Francisco Airport) on American
Airlines at Noon, arriving in EZE (Buenos Aires Airport) on April 28th at
10:00am.
Arrive at the * * * * Castelar Hotel, unpack and run to the Tango Shoes
Factories ("Artesanal" for traditional and "Comme Il Faut" for unique and
special ones). Go to "Cafe Tortoni" for lunch or breakfast, (up to you), take a
nap, have an orientation meeting, tango class in the evening and our first
Milonga! probably "Nino Bien" (the most popular) or "La Ideal" (they feature
very good orchestras)
A typical day will be:
Mornings free for you to visit Historical Tango places, our spectaculars
Museums, Teatro Colon (our Opera House) , La Boca, Caminito, etc. etc. (Saturday
we have a city tour in the early afternoon) - a Tango class (and/or Milonga or
Vals) in the evening - a Milonga at night. I always try to schedule the classes
with the best teachers in the different styles (salon, milonguero, new tango)
and also like to go to the Milongas with Live music (in general "Canning", "La
Ideal" and "Torcuato Tasso" have the best orquestas)
Others Milongas we'll visit are: the funky "La Catedral", La Milonga de los
Jovenes ("La Estrella" and "La Viruta") "Lo de Celia", etc. etc. We have so
many good Milongas and so little time!
The first Saturday we have a Dinner Show at either "Sr Tango" or "La Esquina de
Homero Manzi" and the second Saturday we'll go to a very traditional Milonga :
"Sunderland Club".
On Sundays we'll visit "La Feria de San Telmo" (a wonderful kind of antiques
flea market) with a lot of tango street performers and we can spend some more
money in souvenirs and gifts for our friends.
We'll come back home in the evening of Sunday, May 8th, happily exhausted, your
suitcases full of leather clothes, tango shoes, chocolates, music, dulce de
leche) and your soul fulfilled because you accomplished your "Tango Mecca" trip.
You already have the dates: April 27th - May 9th. The cost is $2000. A deposit
of $500 is required to hold your place and the balance is due on April 1st,
2005.
