Background Information on Daniel Diaz: Discover hidden beauty in tango music with the bandoneonist whom Anibal Troilo enjoyed hearing play early in Daniels training in Buenos Aires. Daniel Diaz is an Argentine master of the bandoneon, the German instrument identified as "the soul of the tango". With its distinctive mournful wail and expressive sighing voice, Daniels bandoneon playing has received standing ovations in concert halls and dance venues across the country. Director of Salt Lake City's "Rio Plata Institute", Daniel shares the musical culture of his native Argentina with audiences around the world through his innovative "Tango Camerata" bands which provide tango music for several cities on a frequent basis. Daniels May 2005 appearances in Denver led to frequent musical collaborations with Deb & Brian in their alternate guises as tango musicians on guitar, flute and voice. In addition to accompanying their dancing many times on bandoneon, Daniel also appeared with Deb & Brian for the acclaimed production of "The Nutcracker" in 2004 with the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, playing and dancing in an original tango arrangement of Tchaikovsky's Spanish Dance. In 2005, Daniel joined Dance of the Heart's production of "AIResTANGO", an innovative theatrical synthesis of tango dance and music with tango-inspired aerial art, co-produced and starred in by Deb & Brian with Cathy Gauch of AircatAA. Background Information on Deborah Sclar & Brian Dunn: Conceived in their passion for authentic Argentine tango, birthed in 1998 to seduce others to the magic of the embrace and nurtured through their obsession for continued improvisational dancing, Dance of the Heart" is the "tango child" of Deborah Sclar & Brian Dunn of Boulder, CO.
