Argentine Tango Workshop with Barbara Durr
in Memphis, TN Jan. 14-15, 2006
Barbara Durr has studied and danced tango extensively in Buenos Aires over
the last ten years. She has accepted invitations to teach in Mt. Vernon, MO,
New York, Denver, Cincinnati, Cleveland, St. Louis, and Portland, to only
name a few. Her goal in teaching is to get you rapidly onto the dance floor
to enjoy this creative and passionate dance. Barbara teaches the strictly
social "Milonguero," or close embrace style of tango - the style that is
danced in the crowded clubs of central Buenos Aires. Barbara particularly
emphasizes the connection between partners and musicality by using compact
choreography and a rich, subtle form of body language. When it comes to
technique, Barbara is absolutely among the best of the best! -by Karen
