Originally from Hyderabad, India, Srinivas Vishnubhotla lives and teaches Argentine Tango in New Orleans. He first learned tango, its strict and social form, from the Houston Argentine Tango Association (HATA) instructors, Joan Bishop and Roger Soto in 2001. Building on the sound foundations laid by Joan early on, his passion and interest for this dance took precedence after attending and enjoying milongas, tango festivals such as in Denver and taking regular workshops with instructors - Susana Miller and Cacho Dante. His main inspiration to this dance is the music, all the milongueros who embrace this dance, and the connection he shares with his partners on crowded social dance floors. He continues to explore the richness and beauty of this dance form through learning, dancing and teaching whenever he has an opportunity.

Friday Feb 10 7:00 pm Class 1 : Social Dancing Basics: Posture, Axis and Balance, Embrace, Awareness of people around the floor and Music. 8:30- ??pm Practice till you get it right Saturday Feb 11 Class 2: 11:00 am - 12:30 pm Extension of Class 1: Extending the basics to fit simple rhythms and Improvisation. Ocho Cortados and turns to the left. Class 3: 1:30 pm -3:00 pm Crossed feet systems: Basics and variations. Coming in and out of crossed feet system. Having fun in back ochos. Turns in back ochos. 3-5pm Practice for the big date 7:30 till ?? Milonga till your heart says Stop Sunday Feb 12 Class 4 : 12:00 am -1:30 pm Turns: Exploring new turns using the tools already learned. Class 5 : 2:00 pm -3:30 pm Waiting Times : Review of material, classes 1-4. Dancing slow and steady for leaders. Opportunity to play for followers. 3:30 pm -Practice till everyone leaves with a smile. Cost: $25 per class, $100 for all 5 classes. Practicas and Milonga FREE with paid classes, $10.00 each without classes. Students are $15.00 per class or $60.00 for all 5. Guest DJ is Kathy McGeeney of Kansas City.
