It's less than a month away before the 4th of July Phoenix Tango Retreat,
July 2 ~ 4. Pre-registration deadline is June 30th.
Please join us at our 5-Star venue, the Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa for
a more intimate gathering of dancers who enjoy dancing to Golden Age tangos
and
are inspired by the traditions and dance form of the milongueros.
Christopher and Caroline from the SF Bay area who are two of the best known
close embrace teachers in the US will be conducting workshops that focus on
social dancing. Liz Haight of Sante Fe who trained under famed milonguero
Ricardo Vidort will be a special guest instructor and will be available for
private lessons. DJs for the milongas are Tine Herreman (NY), Paul Akmajian
(NM) and Christopher Nassopoulous (SF).
The prestigious Arizona Biltmore was built in 1929 with the iconic Frank
Lloyd Wright as consulitng architect and is an Arizona historical landmark,
world reknowned for its wonderful amenities like 8 swimming pools, manicured
gardens and award winning on-site restaurants. As of last week, there are
still rooms available at our special event hotel rate of $109 (includes
resort fees & parking) which are regularly $300+.
The weekend culminates with a Gran Milonga to be held at the hotel's Art
Deco inspired Gold Room, elegantly appointed with mirrors, tapestries, wall
sconces, French glass doors and a ceiling burnished in 18-karat gold leaf.
