HI, thank you guys for some feedback.But actually it was not a question of universal "a" versus "b" and "i", because I already decided to use "b" and "i" for english speakers, for Germany I use "F" and "k", France "G" and "i",..etc. As a universal Icon I want to keep the "a".
I was hoping to get some criticism/comments about the style of the icons. I am new to the tango-artists so I was unsure if my icons fit to the tango-style.

And at that point, they probably don't belong in the toolbar either. However, the 'a' is still not great. I wonder if it would be better to use a text entry cursor, and make it bold/italic for those icons, rather than using the 'a' character.
