Honestly I realy love this "pack" and my whole Windows+Apps are modified
to use them.
What is the point to make "style", create bunch of icons and then "mark
the project closed"?
There are so maaaany icon packs online, that look awesome but are
limited in the number of icons. Why artist not choose icon pack/style
and create new/missing icons but waste energy in creating some totally
new packs??? There is no point in so much icon diversity
Alex, my suggestion is to publish them on DeviantArt, there are other
similar additions there

According to the license of this example implementation, I can put
the icons on the web when a) licensing them with a
http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.5/ license and b)
mention the original work as basis.
Right?
IANAL but it depends. Do you want to bundle the original icon set and
your additional icons or do you only want to distribute your own work?
For the former you should follow the instructions from the website,
for the latter you might do what you want.
But better wait for a response from one of the project members.
Regards, Mathias
